1. General language competences
The students have knowledge of language learning strategies and communication strategies appropriate to B1.1. level. They are able to produce and understand Spanish at a B1.1 level according to the CEFR.
2. Specific language competences
They can understand the main points of clear standard Spanish input in familiar business contexts. They can understand factual business and economic information presented in Spanish. They can produce connected texts in appropriate business genres (emails, memos, etc.) They can produce brief reports in standard conventionalized format, passing on factual information and reasons for actions. They can describe experiences and events and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. The students are familiarized with challenges in intercultural communication.

The course focuses on the acquisition of core skills corresponding to level B1.1 and their practical application in the form of oral and written communication. It also includes an approach to economic language:
- CVs, covering letters, job interviews;
- work and employment,
- commercial correspondence

- can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken
- are able to produce simple connected texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest

- dominate all tenses (future, conditional, past tenses), presente de subjuntivo, pronouns, perífrasis verbales, imperativos
