Objectives Advanced use and extension of the statistical software environment R as well as basic knowledge of other software packages (Mathematica, Python as well as LaTeX).
Subject Different aspects of the language S and its dialect R, object-oriented progamming, packages, advanced graphics; design and evaluation of statistical simulations; introduction to other software packages (Mathematica, Python) and into literate programming (including the use of LaTeX and Markdown)
Criteria for evaluation Home work assignments and written project report
Methods Lecture by instructor; Discussion of the homework assignments by the students; Independent programming of statistical analysis methods
