Objectives Understanding of the most relevant topics and basic concepts in chemistry and inorganic chemistry. Acquiring knowledge of the properties of the most important inorganic materials and their applications in the laboratory, technology and everyday life.
Subject Chemistry as the central science describing the properties of all compounds and their transformations: Basic principles of chemistry; stoichiometry and chemical calculations; important models and concepts in chemistry; atomic structure; electron configurations; periodic table of the elements; nature of the chemical bond; structure and properties of molecules and compounds; chemical reactions and equilibria; acid-base and redox processes; coordination chemistry; selected aspects of materials science; abundancy, utilization and properties of the chemical elements and their most important compounds.
