Objectives
Data modeling covers the development process starting with requirements analysis up to a conceptual design of the data model which is fundamental for developing information systems.
This course aims on a theoretical and practical fundament in the field of data modeling. The coactions of data and functional analysis and the embedding of data analysis and modeling within a modern application development process are the key aspects. Moreover, an overview of relevant models and methods is given. On the basis of case studies the data modeling process is demonstrated. Practical experiences are gained by using the methods and their application in exercises and examples.
It is recommended to visit the course "Semantic Data Modeling and Applications".
