Original study plan Bachelor's programme Technical Physics 2018W
Objectives Get in touch with elementary concepts, terms, definitions and assumptions of the most important physical theories, understanding the mathematical and logical construction of these theories and how they are applied to specific physical systems.
Subject Mathematical Methods in Physics:
Recapitulation and extension of vector algebra, analysis and calculus, tensor calculus, curvilinear coordinates, ordinary differential equations, functions of complex variables, Fourier transformations, Dirac delta distribution.

Theoretical Mechanics: mechanics of point particles and rigid bodies, constants of motion, analytical mechanics, introduction into mechanics of the continuum, nonlinear dynamics.
Theoretical Electrodynamics I: Maxwell's equations, electrostatics and magnetostatics in vacuum, electromagnetic waves.
Theoretical Electrodynamics II: Theory of electromagnetic radiation, interaction with matter, macroscopic and microscopic Maxwell equations, boundary conditions at interfaces, field-matter interactions, relativistic electrodynamics.
Theoretical Quantum Mechanics I: Basic assumptions, Schrödinger equation for one particle, use of symmetry, approximate methods, identical particles and exchange interaction, the principle of chemical bond.
