Objectives Detailed understanding of Maxwell's equations and the wave equations derived thereof, as well as the exact calculation of field intensities of an elementary dipole, principles of the most important measuring techiques using microwaves.
Subject Maxwell's equations, stationary magnetc field, vector potential, Poynting's vector, electromagnetic waves, retarded potentials, elementary dipole, characteristic properties of antennas. Radar equation, pulsed radar, resolution of a radar, Doppler radar, FM-CW radar, moving target indication, synthetic aperture, radiometer, measurement of material parameters using resonators and transmission measurements, scattering parameters, network analysis.
