(*)Practical, on-hands courses are held in form of a "Journal Club" in which each student is required to present a selected, recent research paper on each topic in the course as if the paper were his or her own paper. This means student must defend the paper during a discussion with fellow classmates and instructors. These types of courses have been designed to teach students the art of critical reading/understanding as well as practice presentation techniques when presenting one's own research work. The Journal Club will be open to all other students in the department as a source of understanding in field of molecular and cellular biology.
