Objectives (*)To acquire basic knowledge in xenobiochemistry and toxicology.
Subject (*)Introduction to toxicology, short history, the importance for biology and biomedicine. Toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics. Biomacromolecules as target of toxic substances (enzymes, receptors, proteins of cytoskelet, mitochondria and ribosomes, DNA atc. Review in toxicology of the most significant bacterial, cyanobacterial, fungal, plant and animal toxins. Review in toxicology of the most significant peptide and non-peptide toxins. Natural and synthetic poisons. Xenobiotics in environment.
