Ziele (*)This subject teaches the students various skills.
Lehrinhalte (*)Ethics: The ethics courses introduce students to critical and responsible application of molecular biological methods and molecular biological diagnostics and therapy selection, assessment of the social and environmental effects of new technology.
Gender studies: the courses introduce students to the field of gender and diversity in the context of organizations and opportunities. By exploring legal and governmental tools and strategies (e.g. anti-discrimination law) as well as organizational and company practices (e.g. gender mainstreaming, gender budgeting), the class enables students to analyze gender as a category which, alongside other markers of difference like age, ethnicity etc, structures inequality in our society.

Soft skills: this group of courses comprises the following topics: professional development (empowerment, positive attitude, time/priority management, stress management, thriving on change, critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, leading up), communications (effective verbal and written communications, writing successful proposals, technical writing, SWOT analysis, writing use cases, technical proposal writing), interpersonal and teamwork (Myers Briggs (MBTI), team play, conflict management, conflict mediation, handling difficult behavior, win-win negotiation, influencing skills), respectful workplace (workplace diversity, workplace harassment, workplace violence), soft skills for the technology age (out-of-the-box thinking, brainstorming, e-communications and social media, virtual collaboration, leading virtual teams, technical management), management (supervision, management, project and team management, people in projects, meeting leading, delegation, coaching, managing diversity, HR performance metrics), leadership (strategic analysis and planning, leading change, creating a leading up culture, managing and leading upward).
