Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Mechatronics 2015W
Objectives Basic understanding of semiconductor devices working principles (diodes, bipolar and field effect transistors, operational amplifiers), knowledge of the corresponding device behavior and ability to work with these characteristics (fundamental equations and characteristic diagrams), knowledge and ability to design basic circuits.
Subject
  • Physical fundamentals of semiconductor components
  • Diodes and bipolar transistors (working principle)
  • Basic cicuits (current source, current mirror, constant voltage source)
  • Differential amplifiers and operational amplifiers
  • Transistor noise
  • Large signal behavior
  • Oscillators
  • Multiple stage amplifiers
  • Bipolar logic circuits
  • Field effect transistors (working principle, basic circuits, logic circuits)
Criteria for evaluation Written examination including theory and calculations, subsequent oral exam (if written examination has been passed). The final grade will be awarded based on the results of both exams.
