Objectives Performing fundamental syntheses and characterisations of organic compounds
Subject Six consecutive sections devoted to particular reaction types

(1) Separation of organic compounds based on their acid/base properties

(2) Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution reactions

(3) Reactions of carbonyl compounds

(4) Addition, elimination, reduction and oxidation reactions

(5) Reactions of aromatic compounds

(6) Rearrangement and pericyclic reactions

Criteria for evaluation Tests on safety issues and preparedness for the practical work

Practical performance including safe practice

Documentation of the results obtained (protocols)

Final comprehensive discussion of individual results
