Objectives Knowledge of power semiconductor devices and power electronic circuits
Subject This course treats the construction and application of the most common semiconductor devices. The lecture covers following topics:
- physical fundamentals of semiconductor technology
- construction of semiconductors
- external circuitry for driving and protection of semiconductors
- cooling and heat transfer
- uncontrolled and phase-controlled rectifiers
- line-commutated converters
- self-commutated inverters
