Molecular & Cell Biology: Cell, compartments of the cell, eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell, plant cell, central dogma of molecular biology, DNA, RNA, transcription, introns / exons / splicing, amino acids, genetic code, translation, folding, chromosome structure, viruses, DNA replication, DNA damage and repair, recombination, RNA polymerase, cell cycle, major pathways, isolation of DNA, vectors, PCR
Microbiology: Microbiology: viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae, worms, protozoa, microscopy and staining, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, evolutionary relationships among microbes, microbial communities, metabolism, culturing of bacteria, gene transfer and genetic engineering, parasites (host-microbe relation), sterilization and disinfection, antimicrobial therapy, epidemiology, environmental microbiology, pathogenesis and interactions with other cells
