Subject Knowledge of, understanding in, and approaches to following topics:
General chemistry: physical properties, atoms and compounds, chemical nomenclature, chemical equations, equilibrium, periodic table, ions, stoichiometry, bonds (ionic, covalent, metallic), molecules and their bonding, gases, liquids, water and solutions, acids and bases, oxidation and reduction
Organic chemistry: bonds, organic compounds (hydrocarbons, functional groups), stereochemistry, alkanes and cycloalkanes (cyclohexane), alkenes and alkynes, haloalkanes, chirality, alcohol, ether, aromatic (benzene), amines, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, carbohydrates, amino acids, nucleic acids, lipids
