Objectives |
The integration of systems and their processed information is a main requirement in interconnected and cooperative environments.
This course presents different kinds of information, classifies problems of information integration processes and introduces the most important architectures as well as characteristics of integrated systems. Moreover, methods for semantic integration based on ontologies and knowledge representation languages are explained. Additionally, business applications of integrated information systems are presented. Practical experiences are gained by using the methods and their application in exercises and examples.
