Detailed information |
Original study plan |
Master's programme Mechatronics 2015W |
Objectives |
Impart basic knowledge about the physiology of the engineer. Identification of differences and similarities between physiological and technical control loops. Discussion of concrete examples of engineering applications of interference in the human body.
|
Subject |
• Introduction to the physiological description of cells, tissues and organs and their regulation. • Physiological control structures, neural networks, the energy balance in the human body, mathematical modeling by Kompartimentalmodelle. • Engineer-like interventions: different requirements compared to technical systems, glucose control in diabetic patients, analysis of the dialysis process and control engineering approaches, functional electrical stimulation (breathing pacemaker, cardiac pacemakers, deep brain stimulation)
