Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Joint Master Programme Biological Chemistry 2015W
Objectives Mainstream current topics in developmental biology including comparative biochemistry, molecular phylogenetics, virology and cell regulation will be taught in this subject.
Subject The subject combines courses/lectures and seminars that deal with molecular and biochemical aspects of historical (phylogeny) and individual (ontogeny) development of living systems/organisms ("evo-devo" concept). The module offers a course on viruses, obligatory parasites of the host cells, their role in horizontal transmission of genes among host organisms, and a role of viruses evolution of life on the Earth. Cell signalling/mechanisms of signal transductions, its structural, functional, and developmental views.
Further information A total of 22 ECTS from two of the three biological elective subjects must be taken, with a minimum of 10 ECTS for each.
