Objectives Students will acquire theoretical experience in advanced biological chemistry.
Subject Current aspects of molecular biology and biochemistry of genes, cells and organisms (viruses, microbes, animals, plants)

Modern biotechnologies applied in the fields of chemistry, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and the food industry

Genetically modified organisms - advancement and risk assessment

Advanced technologies in molecular biology/genetics and biochemistry laboratories

Individual seminars will consist of presentations/lectures by invited research scientists as well as by invited members of the journal club.

In regards to the journal club, students will choose a paper that has been published in respected scientific journal and present a critical review of author's experimental/theoretical approach.
