Subject
  • Laboratory safety
  • Organic chemical synthesis
  • Preparative separation methods
  • Characterization methods, especially spectroscopy
Criteria for evaluation For a positive completion the following parts have to be passed positively:

  • Preparatory meeting (participation)
  • Safety briefing (participation)
  • Fire extinguishing exercise (participation)
  • The practical examples (assessed are working method, safety, yield, purity of the preparations)
  • The protocols of the experiments
  • The short presentation
Methods Practical experimental laboratory work, short presentations, individual supervision by assistants
Language German
Study material Will be distributed in the lab (online, Moodle)
Changing subject? No
Further information The practical course starts for ALL with the participation in the preparatory meeting.

All participants must attend the mandatory preparatory meeting and safety briefing as well as the fire extinguishing exercise. Unexcused absences from any of these appointments will result in forfeiture of lab space.

The lab also includes a short presentation on spectroscopic methods to be prepared by the students and given in front of the other students. The dates of this short presentation are obligatory for each lab group.

Earlier variants They also cover the requirements of the curriculum (from - to)
