Objectives The goal of this seminar is to improve practical research skills, such as, understanding, improving, comparing, and testing published bioinformatics algorithms, analyzing data sets, or solving a more theoretical problem. Students are required to understand a current practical problem in bioinformatics or a related field and to independently work on solving it computationally. Students are required to present their final results. Implemented source code, results, and a written report summarizing work and results must be handed in.
Subject Varying, up-to-date subjects in bioinformatics and related fields.
Criteria for evaluation The final grade is determined by a combined assessment of the implemented code, the project presentation, and the final report.
Methods Students can choose from a list of subjects and are assigned a supervisor for instructions and support. Students may combine their project topic with the topic of the seminar "Seminar Bioinformatics".
