Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Computer Science 2013W
Objectives Gain competences in the field of firmware development, i.e. software related closely to microcontrollers and in the field of development of virtual prototypes which are used for the verification and development of firmware.
Subject In the first part software closely related to microcontrollers are developed. This type of software is commonly known as firmware. Afterwards the microcontrollers are replaced by a so-called virtual prototype (second part of the lecture). Virtual prototypes are abstract models of a, for example off-the-shelf available microcontroller which are equivalent in terms of functionality and timing. These prototypes are then used to establish a HW/SW co-simulation.
