Ziele (*)The students will learn independent preparation and execution of multi-step syntheses including laboratory safety and required analytical and separation techniques.
Lehrinhalte (*)Several assignments to synthesize substances from the existing chemical literature in cooperation with researchers. Task include literature searches, implementing procedures, setting up of lab equipment, controlling the reactions, purifying the products and spectroscopic analysis.
Beurteilungskriterien (*)Performance in the synthesis, compliance with safety rules, knowledge of background to the specific synthetic tasks, adequate reporting (lab protocols)
Lehrmethoden (*)Chemistry laboratory work with individualized instructions.
