Detailed information
Original study plan Master's programme Mechatronics 2015W
Objectives The course concentrates on optimal problems related to nonlinear systems, whereas the main interest is both on providing better nonlinear models as well as by exploiting this additional information for control. It starts by presenting different methods for the estimation of nonlinear parameters and then uses the resulting models for nonlinear optimal control under different conditions, in particular input saturation.
Subject Topic 1: Nonlinear extensions of models (NARX models and neural networks) Topic 2: Estimation of parameters of nonlinear first principle models
Topic 3: Principles of Design of Experiments
Topic 4: Using general nonlinear models in optimal control via dynamic extension and policy iteration
Topic 5: Using nonlinear models in predictive control
Topic 6: Adding preview and antiwindup to control
Criteria for evaluation A written exam and evaluation of the exercise part.
Methods Lectures and exercises (partly in form of group work)
Language German or English
