Objectives Comprehension of methods and application for image based measurement techniques including space based and specrum based procedures; basics of human and biological vision; industrial application examples; morphological operations; object recognition
Subject This course covers the following topics: Selection of scene illumination including the problem of shadows Image acquisition and components of optical systems Two-dimensional sampling process (CCD sensor) Image transformation in spatial and frequency domain Image enhancement (noise reduction, sub pixel resolution, etc.) Digital filtering and reconstruction (e.g. Wiener Filter) Image analysis and computer vision (morphological operation) 2D and 3D data acquisition from image data
Criteria for evaluation Oral final exam - home exercises have to be handed in during the term
