Objectives |
Students understand and can apply the basics of physics, especially of semiconductor physics.
|
Subject |
Basic physical concepts of mechanics and thermodynamics: force, mass, energy, impulse, inertia, rigid and elastic body mechanics, oscillations and waves, kinetic theory of gases, thermic conduction and diffusion, fundamental laws. Basic physical concepts of optics and quantum mechanics: geometrical optics, physical optics, wave-particle duality, basics of quantum machanics: particle in quantum wells, atoms and molecules. Basic concepts of solid-state physics with emphasis on semiconductor physics: lattice, band structure, doping and carrier statistics, carrier transport, drift and diffusion, p/n-junction, optical properties of semiconductors. Introduction to measurement technology and error analysis, selected experiments matching the contents of the phyics lectures.
