Detailed information
Original study plan Bachelor's programme Information Electronics 2015W
Objectives Students understand and can apply the basics of physics, especially of semiconductor physics.
Subject Basic physical concepts of mechanics and thermodynamics: force, mass, energy, impulse, inertia, rigid and elastic body mechanics, oscillations and waves, kinetic theory of gases, thermic conduction and diffusion, fundamental laws. Basic physical concepts of optics and quantum mechanics: geometrical optics, physical optics, wave-particle duality, basics of quantum machanics: particle in quantum wells, atoms and molecules. Basic concepts of solid-state physics with emphasis on semiconductor physics: lattice, band structure, doping and carrier statistics, carrier transport, drift and diffusion, p/n-junction, optical properties of semiconductors. Introduction to measurement technology and error analysis, selected experiments matching the contents of the phyics lectures.
