Objectives
This course offers a study of the principles underlying the design process of hardware and software elements of computer architecture.
Subject
Topics include digital design techniques for combinational and sequential circuits, including arithmetic circuits and memory structures, instruction set architecture and assembly programming, processor microarchitecture, memory system architecture including cache hierarchies and virtual memory, I/O and interrupts, and methods for timing and performance analysis.
