Ziele (*)Students will recognize to which extent culture has an influence on the way business is done in different parts of the world;

1. Students will practise presenting findings related to the topics chosen for this seminar based on relevant literature in front of the class using up to date technology and expressing themselves freely;

2. Students will critically reflect on practical issues pertaining to business and culture through the presentation and discussion (written and oral) of case studies;

3. Students will independently work on a topic treated in this seminar, doing a search for relevant literature. They will write down their findings in a seminar paper of about 4,000 words applying the common standards for scientific work and using APA citation standards.

Lehrinhalte (*)The main topics of this seminar will focus on doing business in different countries such as Russia, India or China. By drawing on material provided by the instructor and by doing research on their own, students will put together relevant information on specific countries and present their findings in class.

For each session students have to prepare a comprehensive case study on a company involved in business activities in a particular country or region. Using theories studied in other business subjects the students analyse the problems described in the case and suggest recommendations based on relevant information about the specific country or region.

In the final research paper to be submitted at the end of the seminar, students give proof of their ability to do academic research, use critical thinking, and apply their academic writing skills.
