Objectives Students have the required methodological knowledge for the initiation, implementation, monitoring and management of projects for the implementation of distributed, interactive IT systems. They are familiar with the state-of-the art in Communications Engineering and its underlying theories. In particular, they know organizational, technical and human resource requirements when designing interactive, distributed IT systems. They are capable to recognize essential business requirements under dynamically evolving market conditions in a timely manner. They can derive and meet the respective transformation requirements when deploying distributed systems, both, from the perspective of modeling and implementation.
Subject Fundamentals in technical networking, protocols and services; Fundamentals of interactive systems; Fundamentals of cryptography in secure communication; Security mechanisms in distributed systems (encryption, authentication, identification and access authorization) downsizing / upsizing / rightsizing; case studies for networking and latest technology applications; inter-process communication, including transaction management, architectural models, specification and modeling of distributed systems, interaction styles; integrative design and development tools.
