Objectives |
Students will become familiar with central concepts, issues, and theories in philosophy.

Subject |
Introduction to philosophical thinking, core questions and philosophical theories. Topics include: Why philosophy? Philosophy and the sciences; fundamental problems of philosophy, e. g., What is knowledge? How can moral judgements be justified? What is the nature of man? Is it possible to answer metaphysical questions (existence of God, free will)? Disciplines of philosophy: epistemology, ethics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language.
