The course focuses on an in-depth look at applied microeconomics (depending on the course either labor economics or industrial organization). Students will learn more about empirical applications as well as take part in class discussions and present papers. The course looks at basic theoretic models as well as the empirical implementation of these models and their applications. Lectures are supplemented with case studies so students can learn how to apply theoretical and econometric models to real world situations.
