Objectives (*)We will learn how to analyse strategic behaviour using game theory, focusing on examples from economics and business. For example, we will examine competition in oligopolistic markets and will analyse likely (and unlikely) outcomes of such competition.
Subject (*). Concepts of games: players, actions, strategies, payoffs, preferences. . Concepts of equilibria: Nash, mixed-strategy, subgame-perfect. . Areas of application: Non-cooperative settings, market structure (Cournot, Bertrand, Stackelberg) . Other game theoretics concepts: dominance, weak dominance, backward induction, best responses
