Objectives The course aims to prepare students for a global working environment by raising awareness of cultural differences with regard to leadership styles.
Subject • Cultural Reflection on leadership. • Knowledge about situational leadership. • Leadership attitudes towards cooperation, competition, and conflict. • Activities that enhance group processes, leadership behavior and conflict resolution skills. • Recognizing cultural differences in leadership and detecting their underlying meaning.

Topic 1 Cultural difference and international management • Should leadership style be adapted to cultural difference? To what extent? • How should leadership practices from one culture be proactively transferred and adapted to a new culture?

Topic 2 Gender issues in leadership and organizations across cultures. • What role typifications do exist? • How to deal with such typifications? • How to deal with cultural differences in gender typifications?

Topic 3 Diversity as a chance for development and leadership • What are possible aspects of diversity? • What are the critical factors? • What are the opportunities of diversity? • What kind of leadership style successfully thrives on diversity?
