| Objectives |
In addition to solid programming skills in an imperative language the focus is on object-oriented programming (class libraries, frameworks, design patterns) and modern software development techniques (threading, RMI, reflection, JDBC, servlets, web services). Students also learn fundamental algorithms and data structures (searching, sorting, random numbers, exhaustion, lists, trees, graphs, sets, distributed, parallel and heuristic algorithms) as well as the principles of software engineering (development processes, requirements engineering, design, testing).
