Introductory physics for mechatronics

Introduction of the relevant physical properties, measurement techniques, measurement errors and statistical error analysis. Introduction to mechanics with special emphasis on mechanical oscillations and waves, elasticity, basics of materials testing, thermodynamics of gases, acoustics and geometrical and wave optics, polarization, interference, Fourier optics.
