Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students can analyze, design, and evaluate digital energy services and platforms in decentralized energy markets. They understand concepts such as collective energy sharing, e-mobility services, V2X integration, and peer-to-peer trading, and are able to assess business models, governance structures, and regulatory frameworks. Students can evaluate flexibility services, aggregator platforms, and smart energy platforms with respect to interoperability, customer engagement, and value creation. They can integrate technical, economic, and regulatory perspectives to assess current developments and emerging trends in digital energy ecosystems.
Skills Knowledge
  • Understand the concepts of collective energy sharing (e.g., energy communities, peer-to-peer contracts) and their role in decentralized markets (K5)
  • Analyze different governance models and the role of digital platforms for enabling collaboration and market access (K5)
  • Understand and evaluate e-mobility services, including charging infrastructure, smart charging, roaming platforms, and their integration into energy and mobility ecosystems (K6)
  • Apply knowledge of Vehicle-to-X (V2X) to assess the role of electric vehicles as flexible storage, grid support, and prosumer assets (K5)
  • Analyze and evaluate flexibility services such as demand response and load shifting, and their contribution to grid stability (K6)
  • Understand the role of aggregators, including business models, platforms, and regulatory aspects of bundling distributed resources (K5)
  • Evaluate peer-to-peer energy trading models, including blockchain-enabled platforms and direct energy exchange mechanisms (K6)
  • Assess smart energy platforms in terms of data-driven services, interoperability, and customer engagement (K5)
  • Understand and compare regulatory and market aspects from a European and international perspective regarding energy service provision and monetization (K5)
  • Analyze case studies of digital energy services and evaluate emerging trends and innovations (K6)
  • Collective energy sharing: concepts (energy communities, peer-to-peer contracts), governance models, digital platforms
  • E-mobility services: charging infrastructure, smart charging, roaming platforms, integration into energy and mobility ecosystems
  • Vehicle-to-X (V2X): integration of electric vehicles as flexible storage, grid support, prosumer assets
  • Flexibility services: demand response, load shifting, grid-supporting flexibility
  • Aggregators: business models, platforms, regulatory aspects
  • Peer-to-peer energy trading: blockchain-enabled platforms, market mechanisms
  • Smart energy platforms: data-driven services, interoperability, customer engagement
  • Regulatory and market aspects: European and international perspectives on energy service provision and monetization
  • Case studies and emerging trends in digital energy services
