| Students gain experience in understanding the design of clinical studies and are able to apply key methods of descriptive and inductive statistics. They are able to analyze data correctly using these methods and interpret statistical analyses and results correctly. Furthermore, students have developed statistical thinking competencies and are well prepared for more complex statistical methods.

Students are assessed throughout the course by discussing small homework examples as well as in a final written exam.

Students are required to assess their prior knowledge by completing the online self-assessment test available on the doctoral program’s Moodle page. Students who do not achieve a satisfactory result are expected to attend this course before attending the course "Statistics in Medical Sciences".
