More specifically, upon completion of the course, they will be able to:
- Quantify analytes at trace level using chromatography hyphenated with mass spectrometry (k2, k3, k4, k5)
- Identify compounds in herb extracts (k2, k3, k4, k5)
- Apply high resolution mass spectrometry to biomolecules (k2, k3, k4, k5)
- Determine a peptide sequence using NMR (k2, k3, k4, k5)
- Report their results in a protocol in a scientific writing style (k4, k5)
|
The course is divided into four consecutive sections with the following experiments:
- Identification of compounds in herb extracts using GCMS
- Quantification of lipids in biological samples - Lipidomics
- High resolution mass spectrometry of peptides
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance - identification and assignment of unknown peptide
