Competences
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to

  • distinguish the field of quantum mechanics from that of classical physics.
  • interpret spectra.
Skills Knowledge
By attending the course, students learn to

  • develop solution strategies for physical problems in the field of atomic and nuclear physics and condensed matter. (K3)
  • describe photons in the particle (energy quantum) and wave image (frequency, wavelength). (K2)
During the course, students acquire knowledge in the following areas of physics:

  • Electromagnetic radiation (interference, coherence)
  • Quantum mechanics
  • Atomic and nuclear physics
  • Fundamentals of solid-state physics (crystallography)
