| (*)The course provides an overview of key economic and managerial concepts relevant for decision-making in the health sector. It combines perspectives from health economics, management, and data analytics to explore how resources in health care can be organized, financed, and evaluated efficiently.
Students shall gain insights into the functioning and performance of health care systems and organizations, including aspects of hospital productivity, personnel management, and the use of data for decision-making.
The course emphasizes both conceptual understanding and applied analytical work.
Students can identify and analyze managerial and economic problems in the health care sector and apply data-driven approaches to support decision-making. They are equipped to apply these competencies to new and evolving issues in health policy and management.

| Beurteilungskriterien |
(*)Students are able to reach 100 points, 50 (50 %) for an in-class exercise and 50 (50 %) for a presentation. A minimum of 50 % in both parts is necessary in order to obtain a positive grade.
- Practical exercise: Students will engage in a practical task designed to apply course concepts and present results.
- Presentation: Students will analyze and present a related academic paper provided to them, summarizing its key points, critically evaluating its relevance, and proposing practical applications in health management.
