Competences
Students are familiar with the concept of platform economics and are able to classify it in the context of banking informatics. Furthermore, they know the architectures and functionality of banking platforms for the individual business areas of a bank. They have the skills to understand deconstruction approaches for banks and their effects on banking IT platforms (sales bank, control bank, transaction bank) and to design them as part of digital transformation projects.
Skills Knowledge
  • Familiarity with the terminology and technical foundations of the platform economy in the areas of finance & banking
  • Understanding of the effects of organizational and technical deconstruction approaches of banks, the platforms required for sales, management and transaction banks in the context of the associated digital transformation including change management
  • Familiarity with the term “digital banking” for retail and corporate clients and all related challenges (technical implementation and operation, regulatory/compliance, security engineering, information and IT risk management, ...)
After an introduction to platform economics in the context of banking informatics, students are familiar with the associated terminology and have an overview of the most important functional mechanisms of banking platforms for all business areas of banks. They will be able to identify the need for change, both organizationally and technically, and implement this in practice as part of digital transformation projects. To do this, they apply change management concepts and methods.
