Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are familiar with the basic research methods commonly used in educational research / didactic research. They are able to design and carry out relevant research projects by formulating specific research questions and applying qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods. In addition, students will be able to assess their respective potential and applicability to answer specific research questions in the subject.
Skills Knowledge
  • Students are able to identify different research approaches and designs as well as basic methods of educational research / subject-specific didactic research (k1) and differentiate their potential with regard to different research questions (k3).
  • Students are able to reflect on the suitability of different data collection methods and data analysis procedures in relation to specific research objectives (k5).
  • Students are proficient in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods and can apply these to specific research questions (k3) and clearly formulate and present initial results (k6)
  • Students can analyze (k4) and assess (k5) the suitability of the data collection and analysis method used to answer the specific questions and name the limitations of the data collection and analysis method (k6).
  • Students can write a report on the results of a specific research question and discuss the implications of the results for educational practice. They can show how the results relate to different theoretical frameworks and existing research findings (K6).

Criteria for evaluation Submission of a research proposal, assessment by external reviewers.
