  • Students are able to examine and assess the legality of employment contract provisions and understand the interplay of labour law regulations and their impact on employment relationships.
Skills Knowledge
  • Question critical employment contract clauses and know where to begin when addressing legal issues (k5).
  • Develop awareness of labour law matters, typical contract provisions, and their legal validity (k1, k2, k4, k5).
  • Analyse concrete case studies and classify legal issues in the field of labour law (k3, k4).
  • Fundamentals of labour law (legal system, hierarchy of norms in labour law, purpose of labour law, key actors, tension between private autonomy and extensive regulation, understanding the imbalance in bargaining positions in labour law).
  • Basics of contract law.
  • Key legal provisions and their classification within the labour law framework.
  • Examples of critical employment contract clauses.
  • Anti-discrimination and equal treatment in the workplace.
  • Where necessary and relevant: supplementary explanations on social security law (not the primary focus).
  • Evaluation and initial assessment of labour law cases within a protected environment.
  • Understanding the role of social partners.
