Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
Students are capable of developing adequate evaluation methods and analyze health policy interventions.
Course Goals:
The Health Economics Organization course covers essential topics in health economics, focusing on the evaluation of health policies and the economic aspects of health production. It examines challenges in health care systems, including sustainability, innovation, and financing. The course also addresses current issues such as public health crises (e.g., obesity and cancer) and pandemics. In addition, it examines health workforce productivity and shortages, as well as the economics of addiction and related policy interventions. The topics change regularly.
Students gain the ability to apply health economic evaluation methods and recognize the limitations of these methods. Students build a solid foundation for making decisions and discussing their implications. They are able to identify the economic perspective of current health care issues.

Criteria for evaluation |
The lectrue covers changing topics, with evaluation criteria that may vary. These criteria can include:
|
Methods |
The seminar has changing topics with possible changing methods. Among these are:
- Collaborative Learning: Team-based in-class projects promote deeper understanding and application of concepts through peer interaction, critical discussions, and feedback exchange.
- Lectures and Discussions: Structured lectures on health economic concepts and empirical methods support remembering and applying knowledge. Initiating discussions encourages students to formulate both pro and contra arguments, fostering active participation.
- Presentation and Peer Feedback: Presenting research findings allows students to evaluate their knowledge, receive constructive feedback, and refine their communication skills.
- Literature review: helps students analyze and synthesize information and prepares them to critically engage with research.
