Competences
  • Students acquire knowledge of the basic approaches, methods and theories of social history and can assess their position and significance within the framework of cultural studies.
  • Students can critically analyse social history research results and apply them to problems and questions in the wider field of cultural studies.
Skills Knowledge
  • Students can understand, explain, compare and critically evaluate basic approaches, methods and theories of social history.
  • They can critically reflect on and use theories, methods and results of historical research (including interdisciplinary ones) and assess their relevance for cultural studies.
  • Students can identify and analyse practical problems of social history as well as their reflection in the sources and reflect on their significance in cultural studies.
  • Students are able to use the past as a potential for critical thinking and emancipatory reflection.
The students have acquired (partly differential, partly specific) knowledge of: The basic approaches, methods and theories of social history and their position and significance within the framework of cultural studies, as well as of practical problems of history in the sense of an understanding of history as the prehistory of current problems.
