Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
Students are able to independently identify practical and scientific information engineering problems in the context of digitisation and to develop appropriate solutions.
Skills |
Knowledge |
- Students will be able to solve typical problems in the field of information technology and digitalisation on the basis of existing knowledge and current scientific findings.
- Students will be able to acquire the necessary specialist knowledge in accordance with the state of the art on the basis of current scientific literature and to present the results of their work in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
Basic knowledge about scientific methods (e.g. literature research, structured analysis of scientific work, presentation of scientific findings); problem solving approaches; application of current information engineering approaches (e.g. SCRUM).
Criteria for evaluation |
The process or approach to the problem, the results and their contribution to the solution of the observed problem, the written seminar paper, its presentation in different formats as well as the participation in the discussion and reflection of the seminar topics will be assessed.
Methods |
Working in small groups reagarding specific and more in-depth topics and technologies in the domain; presentation, discussion and documentation of the group results.
Language |
German/English |
Study material |
Course readings will focus on selected seminar topics available to students at the corresponding subject libraries as well as through digital libraries (ACM, IEEE, SpringerLink). Students will also have access to the following subject libraries: "Business Administration, Business Informatics and Languages" as well as each institute's on-site library.
