Students are able to search the literature on organizational economics based on selected topics, read and condense a particular articles, relate the results to the wider literature, and present the results in class as well as in a written report.
Course Goals
This seminar aims to deepen the understanding of central concepts of organizational economics by studying applications in the literature. It will build on students’ knowledge from courses like Behavioral Economics, Managerial Economics, and Personnel Economics. The seminar shall enable students to read, understand, and critically reflect research articles and connect them to the overall literature on organizational economics.

Students will learn to
- read research articles in the context of prior knowledge of basic concepts in organizational economics.
- conduct an extensive literature search to classify and critically evaluate the core article in the context of the literature.
- to prepare a consistent presentation based on a core article and present it in groups (of two or more students).
- to write up this work in a final seminar paper, taking into account the comments and additional insights from the presentation

Students will deepen their understanding of central topics in organizational economics. Topics are selected based on recent publications and students’ interests.

Criteria for evaluation |
Students will be graded based on the presentations (80%), as well as the seminar paper (20%). Presentations will be done in regular weekly meetings and attendance is mandatory. The final grade for the presentation will be for all group members, seminar papers are submitted and graded individually. Students will have the opportunity to improve their grade by participating actively in class during presentations.

Methods |
The seminar will start with a short introductory meeting, including a short theoretical input aimed at making students familiar with the topics selected for the seminar. Students will be randomly selected into groups (of two or more) and assignments in the form of a general topic and core article.
