  • Critical Analysis & Source Evaluation: Students can independently construct well-reasoned written and spoken arguments, demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to apply academic discourse strategies in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Academic Presentation & Discussion: Students can deliver structured and well-supported presentations on complex social and economic issues, articulating key arguments clearly and engaging in academic discussions with fluency, coherence, and appropriate formal register.
  • Written & Verbal Argumentation: Students can construct well-reasoned written and spoken arguments on social and economic topics, integrating academic sources effectively and demonstrating a command of B2 + level vocabulary, grammar, and discourse strategies appropriate to academic and professional settings.
Skills Knowledge
  • Reading & Writing: Students can identify and evaluate relevant academic and professional texts within a given topic area. They can critically analyse these sources and synthesise their insights to produce well-structured, multi-modal communicative texts.
  • Listening & Speaking: Students can critically engage with academic and professional audio materials, identifying key arguments, evaluating evidence, and integrating insights into discussions and presentation.
  • They can actively participate in both spontaneous and structured discussions on research and academic topics in social sciences, demonstrating clarity, coherence, and critical engagement.
  • All of these skills contribute to strengthening students' English proficiency at the B2+ level, in accordance with criteria specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Students will be able to evaluate the credibility and academic rigour of English-language sources, distinguishing between high-quality scholarly materials and less reliable content.
  • Students will acquire and apply B2+level vocabulary relevant to sociology and economics, enhancing their ability to engage in both written and oral academic discourse within these fields.
  • Students will understand and implement effective techniques for structuring and articulating critical discussions, enabling them to analyse and synthesise information from professional journals and media with clarity and precision.
