Competences
In the seminar, various skills essential for academic work and presentations are taught. These include the ability to conduct independent literature research, evaluate information, write structured and logical academic texts, and correctly cite sources. In addition, communication skills are developed as students learn to present their research findings clearly and convincingly.
Skills Knowledge
Students acquire the ability to read economic scientific articles, understand their core content, and accurately summarize them in their own words. This also includes recognizing and comprehending technical terms and complex economic concepts. Additionally, they practice identifying the key arguments of a text and presenting them clearly and coherently, both in writing and orally. Structure of scientific texts. Structure of scientific presentations.
Criteria for evaluation Students are assessed in the SE Macroeconomics and International Economics on the basis of their own presentation, participation in the presentations of other students and a written seminar paper.
Methods At the beginning of the seminar, the basics of academic writing are covered, including literature research, structuring a term paper, and proper citation. Following this, special emphasis is placed on writing introductions, main bodies, and conclusions.
