| Students can describe and comment on central topics related to the business areas of CSR, HRM, marketing, finance, and strategy at C1 level English.
Students can discuss current developments and events in the context of these central topics and highlight their respective significance.
Students are able to summarize and evaluate the positions of media contributors as well as their classmates, and subsequently prepare brief responses (e.g. texts or presentations) in order to express their own thoughts on the topic.
Course Goals
Students should be able to engage clearly and effectively with specific current content from English-language media outlets on business-related topics.
Students should be able to express their own informed opinions on this content in a professional register and with a level-appropriate range of language at C1 level.
Students should also be able to discuss complex topics and opinions constructively.

| Students are equipped to read long-form texts from business-focused media outlets critically, summarize them succinctly and comment on them in a structured manner.
Students can, with some preparation, present freely and fluently on a business-related topic and take active part in a spontaneous discussion on the topic of such a presentation.
All of the above aim to consolidate and improve the students’ English language skills at C1 level (according to the CEFR criteria)

Students are familiar with a broad range of specialized vocabulary necessary for a professional discussion of the business areas CSR, HRM, marketing, finance and strategy.
Students can differentiate between argumentative and informative texts on these topics and produce both types at C1 level English (in writing and orally).

- 80% attendance
- Active participation in class, group and online activities
- Informal presentation (Guided Tour)
- Sector Presentation (formal, 10 min per person)
- Personal Reader + Commentary
- One in-class assessment (90 min), 3-5 mini-tests
The final grade will be based on an equal evaluation of oral and written work and the grade on the in-class assessment. Both the oral and the written work must be positive.
