Competences
Students acquire basic knowledge and skills in the four areas of economic psychology: occupational, organizational, consumer and behavioral economics.
Skills Knowledge
  • Reproduction of the course content (k1, k2)
  • Reflection on the design principles of advertising (k2, k3, k4)
  • Discussion of strategies for emotion regulation (k2, k5)
  • Transfer of general psychological theories and concepts to the field of economics (k3)
  • Attitudes, image and attitude measurement, theories of motivation and emotion including stress, groups, teams and leadership behaviour, basic aspects of personality psychology.
  • Attention in advertising, psychology of communication and persuasion, design of advertising messages.
  • Rationality and aspects of utility, measurement of consumer sentiment, the psychology of labour, unemployment; volunteering.
Criteria for evaluation Written exam as well as in-class and at-home exercises.
Methods Lecture with discussion led by the course instructor, small group and pair exercises in class, supplemented by Moodle (e.g., evaluation by students). Research-led teaching.
